On Sunday September 8th. we will open for the National Garden Scheme for the third time this year. In the last 10 years the NGS has donated £22 million to charity. Principal beneficiaries are Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie cancer care, Help the Hospices and Carerstrust among others.
The garden will be in its full late summer dress (no dull September round here) with all the tender succulents, aloes and exotics planted out, the grass beds growing tall and the Orchard plantings reaching their peak. The Front Garden will be packed with dahlias and the Rickyard buzzing with purple verbena and orange tagetes. The Kitchen Garden will be bursting its bounds and overflowing with vegetables as well.
Tea, cakes (well I never!) and plants will be for sale.
Come and enjoy a lovely day out and support us as well as the NGS. We are open from 11 in the morning to 6 in the evening. Entrance is £5 with children under 16 free of charge. Season tickets and Gardeners World 2 for 1 entry vouchers do not apply on charity days.
We will be flying the NGS flag again next year. Watch this website for more details.
